R - Install package from source (.tar.gz file)

Hi,

Is there a way to install R packages directly from a source file (.tar.gz) in the local folder?

Suppose I built my own package "my_package" and built the source file "my_package.tar.gz" using R CMD. In R I would then type 'install.packages("my_package.tar.gz", repos = NULL, type = "source")' to install it from the local working directory.

I've tried to add the line 'RUN R -e 'install.packages("my_package.tar.gz", type = "source", repos = NULL)' in the Docker file, but it seems not to work.

Thanks,

Michael

Side note - Many thanks to all the team for Galileo! I've started using it recently, and I love it!

Hi Michael,

Thank you for using our forum!

Try adding /home/galileo/

RUN R -e 'install.packages("/home/galileo/my_package.tar.gz", type = "source", repos = NULL)'

If that doesn't solve the problem, please let us know.

Best,

Matt
